コロナ時代のテクノ教会ベルグハイン　/Visited legendary nightclub Berghain in Corona era

3回目となるベルリン訪問。いつ来てもベルリンは良い街だ。そして、今回も、厳しいドアチェックで有名な伝説的なテクノクラブであるベルグハインへの入場を試みた。前回2月に行ったときは、完敗だった。

I went on a short trip to Berlin. It was my third time visiting there, I’ve  always been moved by this cosmopolitan city. I tried to visit the legendary nightclub Berghain which is famous for its strict door policy. Actually I was refused entry on my last visit in February 2020.

ベルグハインはCOVID19下におけるショーシャルディスタンスに対応するためアートギャラリーとしてオープンした。そこに掲げている横断幕が、”明日が問題だ”である。先々が見通せない中、明日がどうなるか、みんなギリギリのところでサバイブしていて、共感を覚えた。

Recently they have reopened as an art gallery to cope with social distancing rules against COVID-19. They have repurposed the building by putting on an art exhibit Berghain:  “Morgen ist die Frage = Tomorrow is the Problem”.

I totally agree with this slogan. Even politicians say we must stay at home and slow down the economy this is unavoidable, people have to survive today and try their best tomorrow.

クラブに向かう道にはギャラリーと屋外ディスコに通じる入り口に分かれている。私はもちろんディスコを選択した。

I admire that they are adapting and they don’t give up on their German techno music culture. People travel to come to see the Bargain and they still can ! There are two ways we can enter  the building. One way is to enter into  an art gallery, another way is for an open air disco zone. So I chose  the disco zone. There is a nice techno music DJ and door checks to enter it.

有名なドアチェックは健在。それでも成功率は普段のときよりずっと高い。そして、今回初めてベルグハイン詣が成功させた。

In contrast to normal times there is a better success rate of getting into the club which is ironic given the situation but its great to be able to finally enter this hallowed club! It used to be less than 10% got in before COVID-19!

ソーシャルディスタンの中で、自由とダンスを心行くまで堪能しました。

Finally I could succeed in entering the Berghain. Ultimately I danced and enjoyed the freedom of movement  and enjoyed this  moment with real social distancing!!!
